BetelO wasn’t built overnight. It took four years of experimenting, failing, learning, and brewing more tea than we can count. We tasted, tested, and sourced over 50 different kinds of betel leaves from across India—learning what makes them unique and how to bring out their best.
Sandeep believed in betel leaves so much that he left his job to make this happen. The goal was simple: create a tea that’s pure, powerful, and packed with benefits, while giving farmers a steady, fair income.
After two years of R&D, we finally cracked. We developed a patented processing method that keeps the nutrition intact—from raw leaf to brewed tea—without losing its natural goodness. Today, BetelO isn’t just another tea.

The Journey of BetelO Started with a Metro Ride
I’m Sandeep, the founder of BetelO. A few years ago, during a metro ride to my MG Road office in Bangalore, I came across a research paper on betel leaves—their hidden health benefits, ancient uses, and how they’ve been forgotten over time. That moment sparked something in me. Being from Mysuru, where betel leaves are still a part of daily rituals and remedies, I felt a deep connection. But somewhere along the way, myths had overshadowed their true value. I began digging deeper into their history, wellness benefits, and potential.
I spent over a year working with farmers, food experts, and herbal tea blenders to understand how to bring betel leaves back into everyday life. Eventually, I created something that didn’t exist before: a new-age betel leaf tea. That’s how BetelO was born—not just as a brand, but as a revival of something we nearly lost. This isn’t just tea; it’s a return to what’s real and rooted.
